The UIS women's track & field team delivered several standout performances at the Lewis Invite on Friday night, highlighted by Madelyn Miller's historic mile run. Miller became the first UIS runner to break the 5-minute barrier in the indoor mile with a time of 4:57.00, marking a new milestone for the program. Her performance currently ranks No. 55 in NCAA Division II as of Friday night.
Meet Highlights
- Miller's third-place finish in the mile led a strong showing for the Prairie Stars. Marissa Roggensack (13th, 5:13.13) and Lillian Buzani (14th, 5:17.15) also posted competitive times.
- In the 3,000-meter run, Josslyn Gaona claimed first place with a time of 10:21.50, leading a deep UIS contingent. Jordan Serrahn (7th, 10:39.44) and Allison Thompson (9th, 10:50.23) both secured top-10 finishes.
- In the 800-meter run, Norah Wright (19th, 2:27.18) and Lillian Buzani (21st, 2:27.99) paced the Prairie Stars, with Kali Gaden (26th, 2:30.54) close behind.
