Illinois Springfield's Nyla Cooper has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week after a stellar performance on Senior Day, helping lead the Prairie Stars to a pair of run-rule wins against William Jewell.

Cooper went 5-for-6 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs, posting an .833 batting average and a 1.333 slugging percentage across the two games. Her clutch hitting helped fuel the UIS offense throughout the day.

It is Cooper's first career GLVC weekly honor. The last Prairie Star to earn the recognition was Taylor Zawacki on March 31, 2025.

Her performance was part of a memorable day for the UIS senior class, with multiple seniors stepping up to contribute to the team's dominant sweep.
