Estimated Cost of Attendance (COA)
Financial Aid Offer Notifications must list anticipated expenses students may encounter during the academic year. The total COA is an estimate, not the actual price you will pay, and actual costs will vary.
Total financial aid offered may not exceed the estimated Cost of Attendance.
The tuition and fee amounts are based on full-time enrollment. Students who are less than full-time will have reductions in their COA based on enrollment status. Undergraduate tuition rates are guaranteed for 4 years; therefore, students who began at UIS prior to Summer 2022 will have different tuition rates.

Direct vs Indirect Costs
- Direct Costs are paid to the university and include tuition and differential, fees, and housing and food for students living on campus.
- Indirect Costs are anticipated expenses students may incur. These costs include books and supplies, travel, and miscellaneous personal expenses. Room and board are indirect costs for students living off campus.
