Diana Ibarra chose the University of Illinois Springfield because of its “close proximity to the capitol and affordable price.” On campus, she is a co-head delegate for Model Illinois Government, a member of the Necessary Steps Mentoring Program, Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She is also a Spanish language case translator and policy tracker for the Illinois Innocence Project at UIS. “What I like most about UIS is how excellent and engaging the professors are in both departments I am in,” she said. “They challenge me in ways that have been enriching.” Following graduation from UIS, she plans to attend law school and study international law.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every day.
