Bio: Tremayne “Trey” Price joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the Chancellor in August 2018. Before moving to the Chancellor’s office, Trey served as Visiting Special Projects Liaison to the President at the University of Illinois System where he focused organizational planning including coordinating the System administrative realignment process. He also supported the development of the System’s strategic framework.
Trey comes to the U of I from New York. He holds a master’s in Educational Administration and a bachelor’s in Public Policy and Management, both from the University at Albany. Prior to moving to Illinois, he worked at the Research Foundation (RF) for SUNY as a Presidential Graduate Fellow and Project Coordinator. Previously he served on the SUNY Board of Trustees and as president of the state-wide Student Assembly.
In Trey’s current role, he serve as key staff to the chancellor and executive associate chancellor. Projects have included development of the Illinois Scholars summer bride program, diversity initiatives including the establishment of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and engagement efforts including the annual workplace giving campaign and Community Day of Service.
