Chris Johnson, Candidate for Freshman Senator

Hi, my name is Christian Johnson, but most people call me Chris. I am a freshman here at UIS majoring in information systems security. I am from Minooka IL which is a small town south of Chicago. I wish to run for freshman senator as I want to make UIS a better place for all students, improve my leadership skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the UIS community. Some experience I have had in leadership would be being on the executive board of my high school’s student council, holding a leadership position in my school’s underwater robotics team, and technology student association. I was motivated to become a leader after my experience in engineering class where I was appointed class leader and led the class in constructing a 1:16 scale model of the classroom; it was so much fun I have loved being a leader ever since.
