Ruthie Hedberg, Candidate for Transfer Senator

Hi, I’m Ruthie Hedberg. This is my first semester at UIS, I am a transfer junior year student. I am very excited for this opportunity to get involved on campus. I am majoring in political science, and am currently in the initiation process to join Phi Alpha Delta here at UIS. I am extremely glad that I made the decision to transfer to UIS this summer, and I have loved my time on campus so far. I would like to be considered for the position of Transfer Senator for the Student Government Association, because I am passionate about community, effective communication, and helping others figure out what is best for them and helping to advocate for them. My experience as a transfer student gives me an advantage in understanding the transfer process. I would love to be involved in the SGA to advocate for transfer students this year.
