Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence Award
The Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence Award honors all Academic Professionals at UIS by recognizing one outstanding AP each year. Any academic professional whose appointment is at least 50%, who has been employed by the university for at least three years by the close of nominations, and who does not have a tenured, tenure-track, interim, or visiting appointment, is eligible to be nominated. Any member of the UIS community may nominate an AP for this award.
The Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence Award was jointly established by the Chancellor and the Academic Professional Advisory Committee in the spring of 2004. All academic professionals are eligible to receive the award. The AP nominees are judged on three criteria: work projects, professional development and affiliations, and contributions to one’s unit.
Nominations for the award are reviewed by a campus committee, and candidates’ names are forwarded to the chancellor, who makes the final selection. The winner receives $500 in cash for personal use.
