Study Away Programs at UIS and the Sister Cities Association of Springfield are collaborating on a celebration of the long connection between Springfield and Ashikaga, Japan and between UIS and Ashikaga University. On April 30th, from 10am to 2pm, please plan to join us to enjoy the new plantings of trees on the UIS campus and to learn from campus and community groups including the Urban Forestry Commission, UIS Green Fee, UIS Community Garden, Springfield Civic Gardens, Springfield Arts Association, Springfield Karate, Springfield Disc Golf Club, UIS Music students, the Tanuki Club and UIS and LLCC students studying Japanese and planning to study in Japan.
Parking will be Lot C north. The main entrance to the event will be near the Japanese lantern near the UIS Police Station.
The event is free and open to the public.
