Can you tell us a bit about your background and what inspired you to pursue your current career path?

My mother was a nurse and I admired her desire to help others. I, too, have that same desire and I am fortunate to live in a healthcare community that has a variety of different focuses and specialties that allows professional growth opportunities.

What are your goals and aspirations for the future?

I desire to maintain my current position working as a nurse practitioner at SIU Urology, helping patients improve urologic health while integrating evidence based practice and up-to-date research into my care plans to benefit and impact the Springfield community.

What advice would you give to others who are looking to advance and make a difference in their field?

Always stay eager to learn. Never settle on yesterday's solutions. Strive to better yourself and your role in your specialty.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time that helps you stay inspired and motivated?

Being around my 2 children, husband, and dog allow me to feel supported, experience a sense of belonging, and generally feel happier and more fulfilled. I believe "stepping away" from a stressful career and fulfilling my "out of office" space with my loved ones truly impacts my ability to maintain a positive and contagious attitude at work, which is reflected in my patient relationships.
