WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield Department of Campus Recreation will host its annual Health and Wellness Fair. The event is free and open to the public, including UIS students, faculty, staff and alumni.
WHEN: 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, April 22
WHERE: UIS Quad
DETAILS: The event will feature chair massages, outdoor yard games, health and wellness giveaways and a BeaverFit fitness trailer—a “gym on wheels.”
More than 30 off-campus health and wellness vendors are scheduled to participate, including Aetna, Be Well Illinois, Chiro One Wellness Center, Delta Dental, Epilepsy Advocacy Network, Fifth Street Renaissance, First Step Women’s Center, Food Fantasies, ImpactLife, Living Hope Counseling Center, Luminary Counseling, MassageLuXe, Memorial Health (cancer center, stroke education, gastrointestinal health), Nutritiously Simple, Pilates Studio of Springfield, PNC Bank, Scheels, Shake This Eat That, Simmons Cancer Institute, Springfield Clinic (radiology and cancer center), Springfield Road Runners Club and the U.S. Army.
Participating UIS departments and organizations include Brookens Library, the Career Development Center, the Diversity Center and Exercise is Medicine on Campus.
ImpactLife will also host a blood drive during the event. Donors can register in advance online.
