Sarah Jansen chose the University of Illinois Springfield because it was close to home and “provided an affordable quality education.” At UIS, she is a Camerata trumpet musician, Capital Scholars Honors Program student and a member of The Research Society. She also works in The Learning Hub as the physics supplemental instructor and as a science tutor. “What I have liked most about UIS is that I have been able to get to know my professors due to the small classroom environment,” she said. “I have been able to ask questions and have them answered quickly and have conversations that go beyond the course material.” Following graduation, she will be attending Kansas City University College of Medicine and Biosciences to pursue her doctorate in osteopathic medicine.
