Hometown: McHenry, Illinois
Major: Political Science
Future Plans: Stay involved in politics
Connor Krater chose the University of Illinois Springfield because he wanted to be politically active on and off campus. At UIS, he is the chancellor and founder of the Political Understanding and Activist Club. The club holds events, such as “Spilling Tea, Spittin’ Topics,” where students participate in calm and meaningful discussion about political topics. Krater is also a member of Model Illinois Government. “UIS is right in the capitol so getting involved in the state politics is very easy,” he said. “There are plenty of internship opportunities here for me to get involved in.” Following graduation from UIS, he plans to stay active in politics.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every day.
