Sierra Peterson transferred to the University of Illinois Springfield to complete her bachelor’s degree. On campus, she works at the Student Union. As part of her job, she helps manage the UIS CARES Stars Supply Stop, a place where students can pick up school supplies at no cost, with no judgement. Peterson grew up in a small farm town in Wisconsin. She moved to Springfield after graduating high school and says she has “loved all of the new experiences of living in a bigger and busier area.” Following graduation from UIS, she plans to work at a college or university in student support services. “I had a lot of help and support during my time in college and I want to be able to do that for future students,” she said.
