The UIS women's cross country team showcased its depth with a dominant first-place finish at the Hy-Vee Prairie Stars Invitational, led by standout performances from veteran and new runners alike.

  • UIS placed seven runners in the top 12 to total 30 points
  • Junior Maddie Miller claimed the individual title, crossing the finish line in 18:28.10 and setting the pace for the Prairie Stars
  • Senior Jordan Serrahn followed closely behind, taking 5th place with a time of 19:02.48, while juniors Kaleigh Inniss (6th, 19:05.60) and senior Lillian Buzani (8th, 19:14.49) added to the top-10 finishers
  • The collective effort allowed UIS to secure a convincing win over teams such as Truman and Maryville, setting the tone for a strong season ahead
  • The scoring UIS runners boasted a 51-second spread
