Hannah Baity chose the University of Illinois Springfield because it “afforded me the best opportunities for the best price. I also thought the culture and campus were beautiful,” they said. On campus, Baity works as a resident assistant for UIS Residence Life and is a member of Leadership for Life. They are a mentor for the LGBTQIA+ Peer Mentor Program and part of the speech team. “My favorite thing about UIS is the people,” Baity said. “Most people on campus are incredibly kind, funny and genuine.” Following graduation, they plan to attend law school, hoping to eventually have a career in politics and social justice.
