Parag Sachdeva says he enjoys the calmness of the University of Illinois of Springfield. “I love the small class sizes, which allows both professors and students to work with one another very closely and produce quality research and work,” he said. Sachdeva serves as the senator-at-large for the Student Government Association. As part of the UIS Graduate Public Safety Internship Program (GPSI), he interns with the Illinois State Police in the Director’s Office of Firearms Safety. He also helped the UIS Cricket Club win the Midwest Cricket Tournament. He now serves as the liaison for the UIS Cricket Club for the National College Cricket Association based in Houston, Texas. When asked why he chose UIS he said, “(It is) perfectly located in the capital of Illinois, and in one of the most historical cities of the nation. (UIS) boasts an exceptional master’s and GPSI program with phenomenal campus life and recreation as the cherry on top!” Following graduation, he plans to continue working in Illinois public service or policymaking.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every Day.
