Chidi Onyewuchi chose the University of Illinois Springfield because of its close proximity to home and generous scholarships. Onyewuchi is president of Afrobeats Dance Crew, a Resident Life desk attendant and a part of the Capital Scholars Honors Program. When asked what he likes most about UIS, he said the leadership opportunities. “I like how there are many opportunities to take leadership roles on campus and have fun at the same time,” he said. Following graduation from UIS, he plans to attend medical school.
