Melody Colonel enjoys the University of Illinois Springfield because of the people. “I love the relationships I’ve made here and cannot wait to watch them grow,'' she said. Colonel is president of Sigma Sigma Sigma and the Resident Housing Association. She is also a member of Active Minds, the UIS Band and is a Capital Scholars Honors Program peer mentor. In addition to her organization involvement, Colonel also serves as a desk attendant for UIS Residence Life and a research assistant for the College of Business Management. “I chose UIS because I love the feel of the campus and the opportunity to be in the Capital Scholars Honor Program,” she said. Following graduation from UIS, she plans to attend law school and work in corporate law.
