BHM Feminist Friday: Kimberlé Crenshaw & Intersectional Feminism

Join the Women's Center as we have our last Feminist Friday for Black History Month! Our event will be discussing the work of Kimberlé Crenshaw, a leader in the field of intersectional feminism. Crenshaw has a long legacy of powerful scholarship and civil rights advocacy. During our event, we will discuss her coined term "intersectionality", the development of intersectional feminism, the African American Policy Forum, the #SayHerName campaign, and the pivotal role her work has played in Critical Race Theory.

Our event will be in the Diversity Center Lounge (SLB 22), on Friday, February 28th, 2025 from 3pm-5pm.

*Open to all UIS students, faculty, and staff*
