Financial Assistance for International Students
Thank you for your interest in the University of Illinois at Springfield. We are here to assist you through the processes of applying for and receiving financial assistance to fund your education.
University of Illinois Springfield is a publicly funded state institution. Financial assistance available to international students is limited. Some undergraduate international students may be considered for UIS Merit Scholarships along with domestic students. Graduate students may be able to apply for Graduate Assistantships and Graduate Public Service Internship Program.
UIS Global students may or may not be eligible for certain UIS scholarships, waivers, or other aid programs based upon their participation in the UIS Global partnership.
We recommend that prospective students investigate possible sources of assistance from outside the university. These may include civic or religious organizations with which the prospective students or their family members may be affiliated, prospective employers that may support the student’s education in exchange for a commitment to work for that employer upon completion of studies, and other businesses and organizations that support international education.
Donor Funded Institutional Scholarships
One application is used to apply for various UIS donor-funded scholarships - including Global Studies, Music, Visual Arts, Theatre and more. All types of students are eligible to apply including international, online and graduate students. The scholarship application opens in early November and closes in mid-February each year. Students need their NetID and password for login and application submission.
