As contributors to the sustainability revolution, we want our campus to prosper environmentally, economically, and socially. As a student here, there are many ways to join the revolution.
UIS Green Fee Committee
- Each academic year, six to eight at-large student members will be appointed to the UIS Green Fee Committee.
- We have four open seats for the 2024/2025 academic year. Applications are due at 10PM on Friday 9/16/2024. Please use our Green Fee Committee Application Form to apply. (You will need your cover letter and resume.)

UIS Campus Sustainability Projects Coordinator
- Each Fall semester, UIS students can apply to be one of the Campus Sustainability Projects Coordinators. Two part-time (20 hours/week) positions are available. These positions have been filled for 2024/2025, but contact Dr. Styles (mstyl2@uis.edu) if you have questions about future job opportunities.

Letters of Intent are due no later than 10 P.M.
Complete this online Green Projects LOI form and submit your Letter of Intent. Use the template provided here: Submit a Green Project Proposal.
October 18, 2024
Green Fee Committee meets to review submitted Letters of Intent. All applicants will receive constructive feedback on their submissions. Selected proposal authors will be invited to develop full project proposals. The Green Fee Committee and the Campus Sustainability Projects Coordinators will help LOI authors develop their ideas into feasible and effective green projects between 10/21/2024 and 11/1/2024.
November 4, 2024
Full project proposals due no later than 10 P.M.
Complete the online full project proposal form and submit your UIS Green Project Proposal. Use the template provided on the Submit a Green Project Proposal page.
November 15, 2025
Student Green Fee Committee reviews proposals and votes on which Green Projects to implement in Spring 2025. Applicants will receive a notice from the Committee Chair about whether or not their project has been funded. Communications will be sent no later than one week after decisions have been finalized.
