Honors in Legal Studies
Legal Studies Bachelor’s Degree students may apply for participation in the department’s honors program. To graduate with Honors in Legal Studies, students must successfully complete the Honors section of LES 489 Closing Seminar, and graduate with a 3.5 UIS grade point average.
The Undergraduate Legal Studies Marshal
The Undergraduate Legal Studies Marshal honors the outstanding undergraduate student in the department. This student leads the B.A. candidates in legal studies at the graduation ceremony.
Graduate Students
Honors Cords and Highest Honors
Honors Cords and Highest Honors are awarded to the two students with the highest cumulative graduate GPAs graduating in that academic year.
The Graduate Legal Studies Department Marshal
The Graduate Legal Studies Department Marshal is bestowed each year upon the graduating Legal Studies Master’s Degree student with the highest cumulative graduate GPA walking in that year’s commencement ceremony.
