Online or On-Campus the Same Dynamic Learning Experience
In our online Legal Studies Master’s Degree program we provide our online students with the same dynamic learning experience as our on-campus students. Students in our online program are taught by the same faculty members who teach in our on-campus program, and our online students are supported by both a faculty advisor and a program coordinator. Students in our online program also have the same curriculum as our on-campus program and receive the same diploma as on our on-campus students. Find out more about our program.
A Flexible Format
Our online students are able to take 100% of their classes online, never having to step foot on-campus. Our online degree program permits a student to attend class from any location in the world, enabling them to earn their degree regardless of their physical location and schedule. Our degree program is also designed for the working professional and allows students to take a single course each semester or to be a full time student if their schedule allows.
Rigorous Online Courses
Our online courses are as rigorous as our on-campus courses, and our online courses are taught by the same faculty members who teach our on-campus courses. Our online courses combine two online methods of delivery. Some courses are taught synchronously, in real-time, using computer conferencing software. Other courses are taught asynchronously using collaborative tools and discussion boards. Professors are open to conducting the online course as they see best for the course content and for their students. Most of our online students work full-time and go to school part-time and our online students vary in location and time zones, so our online classes are designed to work with different schedules and different time zones.
Academic Excellence
The University of Illinois at Springfield has received numerous awards for excellence in online education, and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Read more about the awards and recognition UIS has received for our online programs.
Affordable Tuition
All students in online degree programs, including non-Illinois residents, receive our special e-tuition rate. Students in our online program are also eligible to apply for UIS Institutional Scholarships, utilize Veterans benefits, and apply for financial assistance.
