Alexa Lopez is president of the Gamma Phi Omega sorority and University Bible Fellowship at the University of Illinois Springfield. She is secretary of the Baile Monarcas cultural dance group and is interning with the Illinois Innocence Project as a case evaluator. “I chose UIS because the small campus allowed me to make a greater impact on the community and my peers,” she said. “My favorite part about UIS has to be the ease of creating events regarding topics I am passionate about and the support that I receive from staff, peers and professors when doing so.” Following graduation from UIS, she plans to get experience in the legal field by working as a legal assistant. She then plans to apply to law school and focus on public interest law.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every day.
