Hometown: Sherman, Illinois
Major: Exercise Science
Future Plans: Earn a master’s degree
Danielle Dennis plays on the UIS Softball team and is a member of the Exercise Science Organization. This semester, she is doing research with Assistant Professor Angela Doehring on nursing facilities and the importance of physical activity for residents and staff. She previously interned for UIS Campus Recreation. She chose UIS because it was “close to home and I had a great opportunity to play softball with a competitive group of athletes while receiving a great education,” she said. “I enjoy how small our campus is because it really allows you to make connections and build relationships with professors, staff, other students and athletes.” Following graduation, she plans to earn her master’s degree at UIS and would like to be involved with softball whether it’s playing or coaching.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every day.
