Future Plans: Attend law school to study family and immigration law

Leslie Herrera serves as the elected undergraduate student senator on the Student Government Association, is a member of PERIOD Club and a peer mentor for the Capital Scholars Honor Program. As part of student government, she’s worked to increase access to free menstrual products on campus. She chose UIS because “it is affordable and its location is ideal for internships and for my interest in law and politics.” She calls UIS a “tight-knit community” where students and professors alike work together to help one another. Following graduation, she plans to attend law school to study family and immigration law.
