Table Visits
Table visits are an opportunity for us here at UIS Peoria to share information about what we offer here at UIS, especially for transfer students attending ICC. This is a great chance to meet us here at the UIS Peoria office and learn what we can do for you! Below are the dates, times, location and campus that we will be on the corresponding day.
Note: Some days will be on the East Peoria Campus and others will be on the North Peoria Campus, please double check times and campus. If you want help locating either campus, please see below for the addresses or contact us via our contact information listed at the bottom of this page, thank you!

UIS Peoria Open House
Open houses are another way for us to connect with the students that attend ICC & those that are attending UIS and are in the Peoria area. We hold our annual open houses typically nearing the end of the semester. We offer different types of games, goodies, snacks, and comradery to connect with others than may also attend while learning more about what we can do for you!

Starting Your Business in Illinois Workshop
This in-person workshop is for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to learn all the components of how to start a successful business in Illinois. Get a realistic view of the requirements to start a business and the resources available to support your new venture. While attending this 2-hour workshop, at no cost, you will learn how to get your business name registered, where to obtain a tax ID number, which legal form to choose, business planning, taxes, financing options and much more! These events are sponsored by the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Bradley University and co-sponsored by Morton Community Bank and SCORE Peoria. (This workshop is intended for individuals who have not previously started/owned a business). No cost to attend; however, registration is required. Presenters for all workshops: Eric Sampson, SBDC Director; Chris Youngmark, Assistant SBDC Director, Illinois Small Business Development Center, Bradley University, and Don Schwegel, Vice President-Commercial Banker, Morton Community Bank.

Wilderness and Remote First Aid Class
Our two day Red Cross Certified Wilderness and Remote First Aid class is designed for scouts, scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments. This course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Survival Med guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs. This course covers the following topics:
- Primary and Secondary Assessments
- Head/Brain, Neck and Spinal Injuries
- Heat-Related Emergencies
- Hypothermia
- Altitude-Related Illnesses
- Allergies and Anaphylaxis
- Animal & Insect Bites
- Burns
- Bone and Joint Injuries
- Wounds and Wound Infection
Successful students will receive a certificate for “Wilderness and Remote First Aid” from the American Red Cross that is valid for two years.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification.

Disability Book Club
