Support the Prairie Star Experience with Student Affairs

The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Illinois Springfield is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes student success, lifelong learning, and growth and development. With over 20 different departments within the Division of Student Affairs we can impact many different aspects of the Prairie Star experience. There are several funds within the division that support high-impact practices that enrich the student experience and empower Prairie Stars to shine brighter than ever.

Student Affairs for Excellence Fund

The Student Affairs for Excellence fund allows the Division of Student Affairs to support the division's priorities of promoting student engagement, growth, and success. These funds will be used to directly impact the student experience by providing opportunities for students to attend leadership workshops, participate in service-learning opportunities, provide support scholarships, and so much more.

Dr. Clarice Ford “Whatever It Takes” Fund

This fund was established to honor the legacy of Dr. Clarice Ford, an essential member of the UIS leadership team since 2008 – first serving as Executive Director of the Diversity Center and Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Services and, starting in 2014, as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

Dr. Ford tirelessly advocated for students during more than a decade of work at UIS. Dr. Ford was a profoundly important voice for students and an essential member of the UIS leadership team. Dr. Ford was a leader who was dedicated to cultivating inclusive communities and ensuring that every student, regardless of background, has an opportunity to succeed. Gifts to this fund shall be used to support students at UIS who are undergoing financial hardships from emergency situations or unforeseen events.
