Student Employment and Recognition Committee
Purpose: Enhance the experience of student employees through comprehensive training, recognition, and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate regular training sessions and a semester orientation/onboarding for student employees.
Recognize student employees through monthly awards and appreciation events, including coordination of the Student Employee Appreciation Week in April.
Collaborate with HR and student employment units across campus to standardize training and recognition.
Wellness and Inclusion Committee
Purpose: Promote a culture of wellness and inclusivity for students and staff by advancing health, wellbeing, and belonging across the Division.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement wellness programs for students and staff, including mental, physical, and emotional health initiatives.
Plan and promote diversity and inclusion training and events to foster an inclusive environment within the Division and beyond.
Collaborate with campus and community partners to support holistic wellness and a sense of belonging.
Assessment Committee
Purpose: This committee will focus on the assessment practices of the division. This will include assessment initiatives, department/program review, and any additional assessment projects that arise.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support assessment initiatives across the division to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Analyze and disseminate assessment data to stakeholders for informed decision-making.
Provide insight into ongoing assessment projects (i.e. NASPA PRACTICES, Dept/Program Reviews)
Offer division-wide professional development opportunities around strengthening assessment skills
Identify a path forward for Star Map or suitable replacement plan
Division Recognition and Celebrations
Purpose: The committee meets on a regular basis to coordinate and plan Division teambuilding, recognition, and celebrations.
Responsibilities:
Monthly recognition of great work within the division
Plan regular socials for members of the division
Create opportunities for workday engagement, ie breakfast, lunch get-togethers
Additional Programs
The National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) – UIS Coalition Builders is the local chapter of NCBI, an international non-profit leadership development network dedicated to the elimination of racism and other forms of oppression.
