Shipra Gupta, an associate professor of marketing in the Department of Management, Marketing and Operations at the University of Illinois Springfield, has been named University Scholar for 2023. The award, considered the University of Illinois System's highest faculty honor, recognizes outstanding teaching and scholarship. Only one faculty member receives the annual award at UIS.

According to UIS policy, each academic year the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost notifies the UIS community of the names of those among the faculty scheduled for tenure review and second- or fourth-year reappointment review. Listed below are the names of the faculty members scheduled for reviews this academic year. Faculty review decisions involve critical commitments for the university and important steps for each individual involved. We would like to make these decisions with the benefit of fair and accurate information.
The University of Illinois Springfield has announced 15 new faculty appointments. Three faculty members will teach in the College of Business and Management; three in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; one in the College of Health, Science and Technology; and seven in the College of Public Affairs and Education.

I am pleased to announce the following faculty members have been recommended for reappointment, in accordance with the Faculty Personnel Policy governing second and fourth year review of probationary faculty at UIS.
2nd Year Reappointment
Brandon E. Schwab has been named the new vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the University of Illinois Springfield. He will serve as vice chancellor-designate until formal approval by the Board of Trustees. He will start in his new role on July 17.
Faculty and staff are invited to open forums with finalists for the position of Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost (VCAAP) at UIS.
