UIS Central Receiving and UIS Mail Services, as part of Campus Services, jointly serve as the delivery hubs for packages arriving on campus through major carriers, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS and the U.S. Postal Service. Please use the Central Receiving address as your delivery destination, instead of your unit's campus address, for all packages, including Amazon orders. Doing so will result in reduced traffic, streamlined delivery of goods, and improved management of incoming shipments.

As the University begins constructing Library Commons, parking Lot A-North will be closed for employees, students and campus visitors starting on July 7 to allow the contractor to install fencing to convert the lot into a laydown area for materials and carrying out construction operations.

Enhancing a Cornerstone of Campus Life
The Public Affairs Center (PAC) is currently undergoing a multi-year infrastructure renovation project to update its aging plumbing systems and ensure its continued use as a vibrant space for academic learning, cultural events, and community engagement. The project began in June 2025 and will conclude by Fall 2026.

Please be advised that the UIS Public Affairs Center (PAC) Plumbing Infrastructure Repair Project has started. Therefore, the teardrop entrance to PAC is closed for the duration of this work.
During this time, SMTD bus service will only stop at the bus shelter next to Founders Residence Hall, located at Eliza Farnham and Vachel Lindsay Drive.

As part of the necessary plumbing infrastructure renovation project that has begun this summer in the Public Affairs Center, Facilities & Services is working in collaboration with multiple campus partners to ensure a smooth transition process in operations. From June 2025 to September 2026, several units currently located in the PAC will temporarily pause or relocate their operations to other campus spaces due to the drilling and pipe excavation activities.

Trillium Court Roof Replacement
Roof replacement at Trillium Court is the next major project for F&S. Henson Robinson will begin work the first week of October. The project is expected to take about 25 working days, but weather will be a factor that ultimately determines the actual timeline. Fingers-crossed for a mild, dry October!

Spring has sprung so outdoor work has begun!
In the coming weeks, the painters will freshen up some striping in the parking lots and the pedestrian crosswalks across the campus. Please use caution when driving in areas where painting is being done.
