Food and drink are allowed in Brookens Library. Beverages in closed containers, such as travel mugs, cups with lids and straws, bottled water, etc., are allowed. If you have food in the library, do not eat in computer areas, clean up all food waste and deposit trash in appropriate recycling or waste containers.

The computers in Brookens Library are provided for the use of all students, faculty, staff and community members. All activities must adhere to the UIS Guidelines for Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources and Guidelines for Using Computer Labs.
The Library’s collection development policy is closely aligned with the Library’s strategic plan. The overall goal of the Library’s collection management activities is to ensure that the Library makes the most efficient use of the resources provided to develop and manage the Library’s collection in order to meet the educational, scholarship, and university community needs.

Cell phones may be used in the Lower Level Lounge, on the lower level, and the main stairway lounges on levels 2, 3, and 4.
