SSU/UIS MASTERS PROJECTS/THESES/PHD DISSERTATIONS

Masters projects and theses are an important record of the scholarly activities of a university's students. University Assembly Bill 6-13 "Policies on Graduate Study" of 1978 stated that "the written portion of the [masters] project must be filed in the University Library."

Privacy Policy

As a matter of policy, the UIS Library will respect the privacy of all users, in compliance with federal and state laws and professional standards. The Library will not reveal the identities of individual users or reveal what information sources or services they consult. This policy applies to all resources regardless of format or means of delivery, as well as to all services offered by the Library.

Locker Policy

Brookens Library provides lockers for the convenience of students who need a place to store books and other material. All currently registered UIS students will be eligible to use a library locker. Lockers will be checked out for the semester. All lockers will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis at the main desk.

Students may apply for locker usage at the Main Desk. They must have a valid iCard to be assigned a locker. Students will be charged a $25 replacement fee should they lose the locker key.

Library Of Things Policies

You may only borrow up to 3 items at one time with borrowing period of 7 days with no renewals. At the time of checkout an online form must be filled out agreeing to the following terms:

Home and Kitchen Agreement

I understand items can only be checked out by currently enrolled UIS students, faculty, and staff and may only be used by the borrower. Patrons that have fines or suspended borrowing privileges are ineligible to use this service.

Food and Drink Policy

Food and drink are allowed in Brookens Library. Beverages in closed containers, such as travel mugs, cups with lids and straws, bottled water, etc., are allowed. If you have food in the library, do not eat in computer areas, clean up all food waste and deposit trash in appropriate recycling or waste containers.

Library Display and Special Use Area Policy

Brookens Library allows use of its display case, lower level lounge and other special use areas for University sponsored displays, events and activities that do not disrupt the normal use of the Library. The display case is located on the Main level of the library. Brookens Library adheres to the University of Illinois Springfield's Access and Equal Opportunity policy in making determinations concerning the use of display and special use areas.
