Dynamic Program Pages to Enhance User Experience and Streamline Content Management

The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) is set to enhance its academic program pages with the launch of Dynamic Program Pages, a collaborative initiative by the Office of Web & Digital Strategy, Enrollment Management, and Marketing. Scheduled for full rollout between November 25 and December 20, 2024, this initiative aims to improve consistency, enhance the user experience, and provide prospective students with accurate and accessible information.

What are captions?

According to W3C, “captions are a text version of the speech and non-speech audio information needed to understand the content.” Captions differ from an audio transcript in that they are synchronized with the audio.

While some parts of the world use the terms “captions” and “subtitles” interchangeably, W3C provides differentiation between these terms as follows:

Getting to Know You: Jessica Bailey

Jessica Bailey is the institutional scholarship coordinator for the Office of Financial Aid.

How did you get started in your career field?

I was an undergraduate student worker in financial aid at Illinois College. I also worked briefly in the Office of Financial Aid at Missouri State University. When I decided to pursue my graduate degree in college student personnel administration at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, I worked in the housing department.

What do you like about your job?

Working in advancement, I get the opportunity to meet many alumni and community members who are passionate about UIS. My favorite part of my job is getting to know all the wonderful people who support our university. Everyone has a unique story, and it’s very inspiring to see how UIS has impacted so many lives. It makes me proud to work for such a great university.
