Dear Colleagues,
Dear Colleagues,
Dear UIS Students and Colleagues,
January 12, 2024
We are aware that University of Illinois System employees may have received an email yesterday asking employees to schedule a “retirement planning session". That email was NOT sent by the university nor SURS, and is NOT from one of our approved retirement plan providers. Please exercise caution whenever you receive email from unknown sources.
Happy New Year! As a reminder, employer registration is now open for the Career Connections Expo scheduled for Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) campus. Advanced employer registration is required. Thank you to those already registered, we look forward to seeing you at the event.
Please join us from 9-11 a.m. Jan. 31 in Brookens Auditorium for our very first presentation in the Employee Development Series - The Future of Higher Education and the Impact of the Demographic Cliff! Our expert speaker for this presentation is Dr. Vickie Cook, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment & Retention Management.
With the start of the semester upon us, we wanted to remind you of the many tools and resources that are available to support you and your students.
Please contact us if you would like to talk more about any of these tools. You can also check out our UIS Knowledge Base for quick access to articles and support materials about services: https://go.uis.edu/UISKB. We look forward to hearing from you!
Please be aware that Parking Lot E will be closed from early morning through 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 10 so that school children may safely enter the UIS Performing Arts Center for the Staley Class Acts performances of The Rainbow Fish.

Dear Colleagues,
The Springfield area is forecasted to receive its first significant snowfall of the season tonight through Tuesday evening. The university does not anticipate any changes to campus operations; however, this is the time of year to reacclimate ourselves with UIS’ inclement weather procedures.
As a matter of policy, UIS does not close due to inclement weather except under the most extraordinary conditions. However, periods of inclement weather often result in conditions that make travel difficult and at times hazardous.
