Dear colleagues —

The search for the UIS Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources has yielded two finalists. They will be visiting campus for interviews Nov. 18 and 20. 

An open forum will take place for interested faculty and staff to attend and learn more about each of the candidates. A Zoom link is available for each forum, but in-person attendance is strongly encouraged. Participants on Zoom will be able to ask questions via the chat function only.

You may now access the triennial Mandated Reporter training that is required under the Illinois Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (ANCRA). All University of Illinois System employees, including those with a 0% (unpaid) appointment, must complete this training no later than January 17, 2025.

The Professional Staff Leadership Academy is a system-wide leadership program meant to foster and sustain a culture of exceptional, dynamic, and transformational leadership at all levels throughout the University of Illinois System. This program for academic professional and professional civil service employees includes a robust group of dynamic speakers, engaging and interactive leadership activities, facility tours, state legislative education, relevant literature reviews, system-wide networking, and a mentor program.

Jason Kosowski is the IT technical associate (LS) for Human Resources.

What do you like about your job?

I get to work with people who care about the work they do and are great team members. I also have the opportunity to get involved in many different aspects of the university, participating in several committees from customer service improvements to AI ethics. The ability to work on a variety of projects and use my problem-solving skills is very important to me.
