I am applying for this position because I can do the job. I am going into my last year here at UIS and have
had a great experience. I started as a transfer student into the Public and Nonprofit Administration
coming from ICC here in Peoria. I have lived in Peoria my whole life and can help UIS grow a presence
here and keep a voice. I intern with the GPEDC and can keep growing new connections here in Peoria.
Peoria is a great place and one that deserves good representation.

Hello fellow UIS students, it is my pleasure to announce my candidacy for the Student Government Peoria Senator position as a representing the Peoria community as an ambassador for University of Illinois Springfield. I am currently a graduate student in the MBA program with UIS. The reason why I am suited to run for this position is because I want to work directly with ICC and their students to find ways to help them move on and finish their 4-year degree. I believe that there can be grants and scholarships to assist in helping students transfer directly to UIS.

I am Samuel Moore, a junior at UIS. I am majoring in accountancy. I have served on student government in high school, even serving as President. I am a hard worker; I have earned an Associates Degree by the time I graduated high school. When I served in student government previously, I worked to hear all student voices and to find ways to increase positive student body interaction with student government. I also worked hard to modernize ways of communication with the student body so all voices could be heard.

As transfer student senator, I will be the voice of the transfer students. I will make sure that transfer students have every resource the school has to offer made readily available. I am able to relate to students from previous institutions because I am also a transfer student, making me a valuable asset to them. After experiencing a traumatic event at my old institution, I feel skilled in being able to navigate serious situations and being able to find resources to help the situation. With my experience, I will be able to bridge the gap between transfer students and the university.
