Emily Marie VanBruwaene

Hi, my name is Emily! I am a new transfer student majoring in Elementary education with a minor in child advocacy. At my last college, I was vice president and president of my student government. While I was there I planned many events to encourage student interaction. I also worked with the college board of trustees to make various changes academically by working on the school's 5-year plan and assisted with the design layout of our school's website to help simplify the format from a student's perspective.

Karthik Ellini

I am excited to announce my candidacy for the International Student Senator position as an opportunity to bridge cultures and build a more inclusive campus community. I've been fortunate to study and work in diverse settings, fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity. I understand the challenges faced by international students, from visa issues to cultural adjustment, and I am determined to be their voice.

Jacob Pollock

I am interested in this position as I have always wanted to help make a difference for those who feel they
don't have a voice otherwise. I would like to make sure every voice is heard and not just those of the
individuals who voice them. I would like to help make a difference in the school and create an
environment where everyone feels they can create change and be able to feel comfortable and enjoy
their time at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Grace Newman

I am eager to be the freshman senate because I want to be involved in improving campus life and supporting the community as well as welcoming new ideas and accepting challenges.

John Kennedy

I am John Kennedy. I am a part of the honors program here at UIS. I will strive to help the first-year class
with all my power and give them the representation they deserve.

Cassie Goudreau

As the UIS Freshman Senator, I will be a voice that advocates for and represents the freshman class.
Through this position, I will strive to promote the growth and development of my class. In addition, I will
work alongside the committee, to foster positive changes in our community. Lastly, I will be open to new
ideas and make informed decisions, in order to improve the student experience at UIS.
