How to Get Started

Getting started is easy.  Follow these steps and be on your way to a healthier and fitter lifestyle! If you are unsure of which package fits your goals, contact the Campus Recreation office and one of our personal trainers will be happy to assist you.

Spring 2025 Outdoor Adventure Trips

Ski/Snowboarding at Snowstar

Join Campus Recreation and International Student Services for a ski/snowboard trip to Snowstar in Andalusia, IL! The cost is $50 per student and includes van transportation, a lift ticket, ski/snowboard equipment rental, and a group lesson. You would still need winter clothes (hat, gloves, goggles or sunglasses, and snow pants).

Intramural Sports

ID Policy

All participants must bring a valid UIS i-card to each and every activity.  Supervisors and officials may request an i-card at any time to verify participation.  UIS i-cards are also required to enter facilities such as TRAC.

If any participant does not have a valid UIS I-card he/she will be ineligible to participate.

Financial

The financial dimension focuses on the importance of financial decision making in your overall wellness. Financial wellness is about the balance of mental, spiritual, and physical aspects of money.  The focus of this dimension is to have an understanding of your financial situation and taking care of it in such a way that you are prepared for financial changes.  Current opportunities include:

Special Group Visitor Policy

UIS campus conference visitors may use TRAC (Fitness Center and Arena) for a fee as a Special Group while they are on campus attending the UIS sponsored conference.

The UIS sponsoring department or office shall submit to the Department of Campus Recreation a request including the following information at least three business days before the beginning of the conference:

Fee Structure & Forms of Payment

Faculty/Staff

  • Can sign up for their membership using payroll deduction
  • Perpetual Memberships are available to Faculty/Staff who sign up for a membership with payroll deduction

Family

  • Family Memberships include eligible student/employee/alumni and their spouse/domestic partner, children over the age of 14 or adult dependent (18-23 years old).    Family membership packages are understood to include a spouse or domestic partner and up to two (2) children or adult dependents living at the
