Study Abroad programs, also known as Global Experience programs, can be taken during any semester at UIS. Students wishing to study abroad must complete a Global Experience Application with The Office of International Programs. The Office of International Programs will help guide the student through the pre-approval process and determine if the program can be used for educational credit at UIS. Once the program has been approved, the student may apply for financial assistance to assist with the cost of the program.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) is a reauthorization of the Higher Education Act. It includes provisions that are designed to reduce the illegal uploading and downloading of copyrighted works through peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing.

When Will I Receive My Financial Aid?
Financial aid is disbursed to your student account no earlier than 10 days prior to the start of the semester if your file is complete as explained below. Student can expect their excess of funds (refunds) to be deposited into their bank account prior to the Friday before the start of the semester, if not a little sooner.
