Celebrate Astronomy Day on April 29 with a Star Party at Lincoln Memorial Garden. Join us on the Cawley Meadow (weather permitting) to share and celebrate the night sky. There will be constellation tours and telescope viewing of the Moon, Venus, Mars, and more.
The event is free and open to everyone. See the Lincoln Memorial Garden website for directions and parking information.
The event is outdoors so prepare yourself with bug spray, appropriate shoes to walk on the meadow and appropriate dress for the weather.
Up to date information about this event can be found on the official Astronomy Day site. If it is cloudy we are planning to host a virtual Astronomy Day celebration at the same day and time through that link.
This event depends on clear weather so check the UISObservatory twitter feed or call 217-834-8940 late afternoon on the day of the event to get updates on the weather.
