Brandi Israel chose the University of Illinois Springfield because of her interest in becoming a civil rights attorney. “I was able to start my major classes and one of my professors was a civil rights attorney,” she said. Israel also mentions that the Illinois Innocence Project also influenced her decision to attend UIS. Israel is on the UIS cheerleading team, a part of the Necessary Steps Mentoring Program and works at the Student Union. When asked what she likes most about UIS, she said the students. "The thing I like about UIS is the students here and how helpful and considerate all of my professors are,” she said. Following graduation from UIS, she plans to attend law school.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every Day.
