Rith Scott enjoys the community and educational culture at the University of Illinois Springfield. They are president of the Queer Student Ambassador Program, a student worker for the Capital Scholars Honors Program and a poetry editor for Violet Margin, the campus literary journal. Scott is pursuing a major in English with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Scott chose UIS because of the opportunities provided by the Capital Scholars Honors Program, along with a fondness for campus life. Following graduation, Scott intends to pursue a career in publishing and community work.
