WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield School of Politics and International Affairs and Engaged Citizenship Common Experience (ECCE) Speaker Series presents a discussion on “Modern Day Book Bans and the Ongoing Fight for Intellectual Freedom.” The event is free and open to the public.

The University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery's annual silent auction and benefit will take place both online and in person this year. The silent auction and benefit, featuring original works of art donated by local and regional artists, will launch online on Monday, Nov. 13, and remain live through final bidding at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7.

Molly Harms of Springfield has been selected as the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) student recipient of the Student Laureate Award from the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Only one UIS student is honored with the prestigious award each academic year.

“When I found out I received the award I felt so honored, surprised and excited,” said Harms, a 2020 graduate of Springfield High School.

On Wednesday, November 8, the UIS Office of Advancement is hosting the UIS Scholarship luncheon at the Student Union.

Therefore, please be aware, on Wednesday, November 8, Parking Lot J and a section of Lot F will be closed to campus for parking due to this event. 

PERKS spaces remain available for PERKS permit members to park in their designated space.
