The UIS Sociology/Anthropology Department is delighted to welcome Dr. Maria Dueñas as a new Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning August 2023!

All individuals involved or interested in the I-9 processes are encouraged to attend. 

Employer registration is open for the UIS Foot in the Door Fair set for Thursday, August 31, from 3-5 pm in the Student Union Ballroom. This event is focused on promoting on-campus jobs, part-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities and to promote opportunities for networking and relationship building between students and campus and community partners.

Andrew Synoradzki of Ballon, County Carlow, Ireland, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $8,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years.

The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.

A recent graduate of FCJ Secondary School, he will major in marketing at UIS and play on the men’s soccer team.
