Professor Bołtuć on Beyond Industry 4.0

Professor Piotr (Peter) Bołtuć recently gave a presentation at the 2022 Annual International Conference on Brain-Inspired Cognitive Architectures for Artificial Intelligence (BICA*AI 2022), held at Guadalajara, Mexico, September 22-25. In his presentation ‘Beyond Industry 4.0, but not too far,’ Professor Bołtuć discussed an emerging and novel category that goes beyond the 4th Revolution of Luciano Floridi and others. UIS Associate Professor Jennifer Martin named the 2022 University Scholar

Jennifer Martin, an associate professor in the University of Illinois Springfield School of Education, has been named University Scholar for 2022. The award, considered the university system’s highest faculty honor, recognizes outstanding teaching and scholarship. Only one faculty member receives the annual award at UIS. |
Message from the Chancellor: CBM Town Hall Canceled

10.17.22 Dear Colleagues— After much thought and consideration, the town hall scheduled for Wednesday morning to address the College of Business & Management climate study has been canceled. Our next steps will be to seek support from the University of Illinois System to determine another resource to assess the themes of concern in the college and develop an action plan. |
Crane Work at HSB Occurring Saturday, Oct. 15

A contractor will be on campus, Saturday, Oct. 15, for work on the HSB roof. This effort will involve the use of a crane, which will be placed on the east side of the building. Markers and barricades will be used to cordon off the area where the crane will be located. Please do not enter the 3rd floor of HSB during this time. Signs will be placed on the stairwells as a reminder. Work using the crane is expected to take most of the day. |
