Trustees for the University of Illinois have approved the purchase of a downtown building to house the planned UIS Innovation Center, designed to provide a hub for technology, business, policy and workforce development.

Sangamon Experience at the University of Illinois Springfield presents a new exhibit, “Susan Lawrence Dana: A Woman of Progress,” opening Aug. 1, 2022, on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center at UIS. The exhibit was created by recent UIS public history graduate Katie Brethorst-Stockwell.

Congratulations to Professor Liang Kong–his joint proposal with Professor Yanhui Guo (UIS CSC) has been awarded a $30,000 grant from SHIELD Illinois! 

The team proposes to study and improve forecasting pandemic infections at the community level in Illinois using advanced mathematical modeling and deep learning that take into account the complexity of human mobility and interactions.
