In Human Development Counseling’s Social Justice and Advocacy class, students discover that lifting a finger can make the difference in the lives of others.  Eighteen graduate students from this class organized “Canvas with a Cause” and raised money for the local Hazel Dell Elementary School.

Chitaia “Taya” Stover is currently completing her Social Work internship with Southern IL University School of Medicine’s new Office of Community Initiatives & Complex Care. As part of her internship, she is participating in the Interprofessional Student Hotspotting Learning Collaborative, a program that trains interdisciplinary teams of professional students from schools around the country to learn to work with complex medical and social needs using a patient-centered approach.
