At the end of the Spring semester, the Diversity Center hosts an additional graduation ceremony for those who identify as Hispanic or LatinX.

Hispanic/LatinX Heritage Month
As yearly tradition, UIS celebrates and commemorates the cultural and global impact of the Hispanic/LatinX Culture. During September 15th to Oct 15th, the campus engages in deep conversations, performances, and ceremonies that explore and unearth the rich history of Latin America and Hispanic/LatinX cultures and global impact.

Ouch!: That Micro-Aggression Hurts
In an effort to make our campus a more inclusive, equitable, and socially just environment, the Diversity Center, in collaboration with Gender and Sexuality Student Services and the Women’s Center, has created the “Ouch!” workshop as a way to educate participants on the subject of micro-aggressions and give participants tools to combat them.
